Reflections of an Appellate Law Attorney: Thanksgiving Weekend 2023

In my solo practice I sometimes get so busy that do not take adequate time to reflect on the blessings of my life, including those that I enjoy through my appellate law practice.

I owe a great deal to my clients, who entrust me to represent them effectively and navigate their appellate litigation through the sometimes maze-like procedures of Virginia and federal appeals courts. I enjoy the work and likewise enjoy my professional relationships with clients.

During this year I've been recognized in Appellate Law once again (i.e. for 2024) by both Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. I also have been recognized as a "Legal Elite" in Appellate Law by Virginia Business Magazine, and as a "Go To Lawyer" in Appellate Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. I am honored by each of these recognitions. I sincerely appreciate the confidence of my colleagues in the legal profession who nominated me for these recognitions, and of those who voted for me to receive them.

So, as I prepare to return to my busyness in the days ahead, I am pausing to count my blessings this weekend. I hope, too, that all who read this post enjoyed a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving. I look ahead with optimism toward the upcoming Christmas and New Year's holiday season, and to the prospects of 2024.
